Since 2008, specialized in aerial photography; first fights at the Cesis Aero Club with support from pilots Aivars Grants, Dainis Miezis and Andrejs Dukurs, but later – Andrejs Asars

Participation in exhibitions

2014. – 2016. Project-exhibition “Dreams cartography“, financed by Latvian Culture Capital Foundation. Exhibited in Riga (Latvian Museum of Photography), Cesis (City Exhibition  Hall), Valmiera (Valmiera State Gymnasium), Berzaine (Culture House) and Jekabpils (Culture Center).

2013. Project-exhibition “Fly. See. Paint” at the Valmiera Museum of Regional Studies (in cooperation with the Valmiera Secondary School of Art; idea author – teacher Velta Rone)

Most significant works

2018. In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Latvian Republic  18 author’s aerial photos has been included in encyclopedia “Latvia” (publisher Latvian National Library)

2014. One of the author’s photos was nominated for the Sony World Photography Awards 2014 (SWPA) under category “Travel”; another photo by the author enjoyed special distinction from the judges.

The SWPA is one of the most prestigious photo competitions in world.

2012. Photos included in the EUBAM (EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine) photo album “Borderlands” (publisher: UN Security and Development Programme)

2008. Photos included in the photo album dedicated to the 725th anniversary of the City of Valmiera (publisher: publishing house “Jumava”)

2006. Photos included in the photo album dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the City of Cesis (publisher: LLC “Dizaina manufaktūra” and Cesis Municipality Agency “Vidzeme Centre of History and Tourism”)

1991. Participation in documenting and publishing the barricades of January and the putsch of August in mass media

Awards and distinctions

In December 2015, the Board of the International Federation of Photographic Art (hereinafter – the FIAP) awarded the author with the status of Excellence of FIAP

On 28 July 2014 the FIAP awarded the author with the status of the Artist of FIAP
